New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - On April 21, occasionally famous actor and filmmaker Adam Goldberg brings you his special brand of pop music - LANDy. By turns soaring and dense, unadorned and fragile, the eighteen tracks on LANDy's debut album 'Everything Must Go' were all written and recorded by Goldberg over the course of six years, with assistance from The Flaming Lips' Steven Drozd, Earlimart's
Aaron Espinoza, and the Los Angeles group The
Black Pine.
'Everything Must Go' was recorded in New York, Los Angeles and Norman, Oklahoma in studios, living rooms and other locales. Goldberg plays guitar, keyboards, drums and other instruments on the album, and sings all of the songs. A restless, ambitious work, the album bounds from vast soundscapes, to haunting, tonal meditations, to lush, orchestral pop with many stops that defy easy categorization along the way.
Goldberg's interest in music stretches back as far as his acting credits. While he was building his acting CV in the 1990s with films like 'Dazed Confused' and 'Saving Private Ryan', and a recurring role on the television show 'Friends,' Goldberg also played in various bands and began recording his own songs. More recently, he has appeared in the film '2 Days In Paris,' as well as the television show 'Entourage,' while devoting even more time to writing and recording music.
In 2006 Goldberg wrote a song for the 'Hebrew Hammer,' in which he also starred and in 2005 he and Drozd wrote music for Goldberg's film 'I Love Your Work.' Goldberg also wrote music for his IFC special 'Running with the Bulls.'
This spring holds the distinct possibility that LANDy will perform live and the certainty that Goldberg's new show 'The Unusuals' will premiere on ABC in April after 'Lost.'
