DALLAS, TX. (Top40 Charts/ E1 Music) - Beloved season 3 "American Idol" finalist George Huff will release his gospel flavored sophomore disc simply titled "George Huff" on April 7th, via E1 Music. "The CD is reflective of the times we are living in and the hardships I've endured in my own life. My music tells the story but also encourages you to hold on, turn your situation around and have some fun," exclaims Huff. These sentiments are reflected in the stand-out single, aptly titled "Don't Let Go." "So many people are going through hard times financially and spiritually and my music is meant to recognize that and be an antidote for it," said Huff. While Huff's music is expressive about today's world, it is also a lot of fun. His gift for creating joyful, state-of-the-art Gospel/R&B is on full display. On "Turn It Around" Huff can be heard asking playfully "Where my horns at?" before shouting gleefully, "Sounds mighty good!"

Produced by Grammy Award-winning Producer Aaron Lindsey and newcomer Jamiene 'J-Skills' Thompson, this CD also showcases Huff as steadfastly unashamed of praising God. "The Bible says if you deny Jesus here on earth, he will deny you before his father in heaven. These troubled times have led me closer to God," says Huff, whose own family lost everything during Hurricane Katrina. A New Orleans native, his old neighborhood and the building where he grew up are still abandoned and untouched since the 2006 disaster. "That was a spiritually low time for me but I knew God would pull us through it as he has in so many other situations in my life," Huff testifies. "There was a time before 'Idol' that I was awaiting scholarship money that was not supposed to be there. But God provided it for me. Even for 'Idol,' I was led by faith to spend my rent money to travel from school in Oklahoma to Houston to audition and made it through. Once I got to Hollywood I was booted from the final 32 but people were praying for me and Simon Cowell chose me as his wildcard and I ended up in the Top 5. My faith in God is the only explanation for that to me."

His relationship with "American Idol's" Fantasia Barrino and Jennifer Hudson has grown closer since their "Idol" days. "Obviously we have been through many ups and downs in the last few years and I have prayed for them and they have prayed for me." Huff speaks to each of them nearly every day but is a fierce protector of their privacy. Huff says he's inspired by their success and the raw element of each of their voices. "I have always loved the no-holds-barred way that each of them sing and I have a song called 'Free' on this record because for the first time I believe this CD is a true expression of my artistic and spiritual range. It's reflective, it's soulful, it's devotional and it's joyful. And that's who George Huff is."
