Mutek Announces North American Tour To Celebrate 10th Edition

NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ MUTEK) - MUTEK, the premier North American festival for forward-looking electronic music and digital creativity, is gearing up to celebrate ten years of musical discovery and ever-growing audiences this May 27th to the 31st. And to mark the occasion, we wanted to give something back to all the people that have helped us grow into the internationally acclaimed event that we've become. And so, we're going out on the road with the MUTEK_10 North American tour, from April 8th to the 18th, taking the MUTEK experience out of Montreal and bringing it to the front doors of music fans all across the continent!

Over the years, the MUTEK festival has fostered the careers of innumerable Canadian electronic artists and, in partnership with Exclaim! Magazine and Resident Advisor, we're bringing some of those names on the road with us. Victoria's The Mole (Wagon Repair) and Montreal's Guillaume & the Coutu Dumonts (Musique Risquee, Oslo) will helm the first leg of the tour (Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa) with the live sets that have wowed crowds all around the world. Chilean producer Pier Bucci (Crosstown Rebels), who has performed many times over the years at MUTEK events in Mexico, Chile, and Argentina, will join the Canadians for stops in Toronto and Montreal.

Once the tour dips down across the border to Brooklyn's Studio B, the industrial-strength dub-techno of the Modern Love crew - including none other than Claro Intelecto, Andy Stott, and MLZ - will join Guillaume & the Coutu Dumonts and the garage-fuelled dubstep of Pangaea (Hessle Audio) for a what is sure to be one of the most talked about showcases to hit New York City this year. Meanwhile, The Mole will finish off the last leg of the tour across Western Canada (Edmonton, Vancouver) with a number of local artists from each city.

At tour stops along the east coast, audiences will be able to purchase MUTEK festival passports at each showcase. Initial acts for the Montreal festival will be announced on March 16th.
