NEW YORK (BMI) - Today announced the music performing rights organization's 10th annual Latin Awards will be held May 5th at The Eden Roc Resort, Miami Beach, FL.

The awards recognize the songwriters and publishers of the most played Latin songs on US radio and television from the company's repertoire of approximately 4.5 million musical works from around the world. The Song of the Year, Songwriter of the Year and Publisher of the Year will be announced during the evening. Winners from previous years have included Luis Gerardo Padilla, Shakira, Estefano, Gloria & Emilio Estefan, Juanes, Luis Miguel, Juan Luis Guerra and Lupillo Rivera.

The black tie invitation-only awards will be held during the Billboard Latin Music Conference & Awards 2003 taking place at the same location. This is the fifth time the awards have been held in the Miami area. They have also been staged in Los Angeles and San Antonio.
