Natural History) - The American Museum of
Natural History ends it second season of the highly celebrated series, One Step Beyond, presented with The Fader Magazine on Friday, June 5, 2009 from 9 PM - 1 AM. Named the 'Best Museum Party' by New York Magazine, One Step Beyond locks down the galaxy with DJ sets from headliner Moby with enfant terrible of the beat busting scene, Holy Ghost! and a set by
Martin Moscrop of A Certain Ratio with an opener by Activaire DJs. Tickets are $25, which includes cosmic visuals by Fuevoz (with VJs SeeJ and Benton-C), entry to the Museum's breathtaking Moby-mixed SonicVison Show, and a pass for one future Museum visit. Moby (Mute)
Moby has been making music since he was 9 years old. He started out playing classical guitar and then went on to play with seminal Connecticut hardcore punk group 'the Vatican commandoes' when he was 13. He started DJing after leaving college, and was a fixture in the late 80's New York house and hip-hop scenes.
He released his first single, 'go' in 1991(listed as one of Rolling Stone's best records of all time), and has been making albums ever since. His own records have sold over 20,000,000 copies worldwide, and he's also produced and remixed scores of other artists, including David Bowie, Metallica, the Beastie Boys, Public Enemy, among others.
He has toured tirelessly, playing well over 3,000 concerts in his career, and has also had his music used in hundreds of different films, including 'Heat', 'Any Given Sunday', 'Tomorrow Never Dies', and 'The Beach', among others.
Moby works closely with a variety of different charities, including the humane society and the institute for music and neurologic function, and in 2007 he launched mobygratis, which provides free music for independent filmmakers.

Holy Ghost! (DFA)
Brooklyn's Holy Ghost! are Nicholas Millhiser and Alex Frankel. The duo has originally part of the live rap group Automato whose debut was produced by DFA's James Murphy and Tim Goldsworthy. Nicholas is also part of The Juan Maclean's live band. Now they've stepped out on their own to be among the leaders in the current disco revival that is quickly taking over dance floors across the globe, using these amazing analogue sounds...

MARTIN MOSCROP (A CERTAIN RATIO)
Martin has been part of the Manchester music scene as a musician, songwriter, producer, remixer and DJ for the last 32 years. He is an original member of Factory Records 'A Certain Ratio'. ACR have released 55 singles, 20 albums and appeared on 22 compilations and in two films spanning over 4 decades.

Always an innovator, Martin's CV not only includes playing guitar and producing other acts, he went on to cut Manchester's first Acid House track in 88' - Acid 2 Xstacy, by ED209. He also worked as the music coordinator on the film ''24 Hour Party People'. He has become known for DJing in the UK, Europe and the USA at places like APT, Open Air and Luxx in NY, Glasgow's Death Disco and Manchester's Electric Chair. This has been amplified since the resurgence of the New York 'Punk Funk' scene and the development of labels like DFA and bands like the LCD Soundsystem, Radio 4 and The Bravery.
