New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ K&K Public Relations) - Cash Money/Universal Motown multi-platinum recording artist Birdman unleashes 'Always Strapped,' the first single from his highly anticipated fourth solo album, ALWAYS STRAPPED, due for a summer 2009 release.

The album's namesake first single, 'Always Strapped,' features reigning superstar Lil Wayne plus Rick Ross and is currently heating up Crossover and Urban Radio station airwaves across the country. The video for 'Always Strapped' will premiere on MTV2, MTV JAMS, and MTV.com on Sunday, June 14th; and it will begin airing on MTV, MTVU, and MTV HITS on Monday, June 15th. On MTV Jams, the 'Always Strapped' video will be featured as Jam Of The Week, receiving over 168 spins, and it will also be highlighted as an 'Elite 8' video on MTV 2.

With the release of ALWAYS STRAPPED, Birdman, a man of considerable talents, answers his first calling - making hit records. Whether it is blood, love, or money, he's the rare individual that excels on multiple fronts - themes he touches on his music. 'When I do an album I want it to be me, my personality, my character, what I love, what I live for and I think in my music. That's what I bring across,' he says, explaining the creative process that also helped shape his last album, 2007's 5 (Star) Stunna.

When it comes to the business of music, Birdman is better known as Cash Money Records Co-CEO Bryan 'Baby' Williams. Since founding the label in 1991 with his brother Ronald 'Slim' Williams, they've lived up to their name selling over 25 million records. From humble beginnings in New Orleans, Cash Money has become synonymous with star-studded stunning. In the wake of 2005's Hurricane Katrina, Baby and Slim relocated Cash Money's base of operations from New Orleans to Miami, where they mobilized Lil Wayne to be the top selling artist of 2008. Indeed, they've created the blueprint for flipping adversity to come out on top.

Music is both the foundation and the soundtrack of the Cash Money empire, and Birdman's albums project his way of life - gems, ink, cars, and fanciful homes. But his omniscient, all-knowing tone translates to the masses. As the stakes continue rise, Birdman responds by flying higher, and remaining an authority on the game, loyalty, and keeping it in the family business.
The single 'Always Strapped' can be heard on Birdman's official website, www.birdmanstunna.com.
