LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts/ Artists Project Earth/ APE) - Some of the most popular and influential names in music have joined forces with the innovative Cuban musical outfit Rhythms del Mundo, resulting in an unforgettable album to raise awareness for climate crisis projects and natural disaster relief. Fusing Afro-Cuban beats with rock and pop songs, some of the musicians that comprise Rhythms Del Mundo were also players in the legendary outfit, The Buena Vista Social Club. The new Rhythms disc features an array of impressive musical artists including The Killers, Amy Winehouse, The Rolling Stones, Jack Johnson, Kaiser Chiefs, Fall Out Boy and many more, delivering a mind blowing musical experience that is destined to become a classic in its own right. Classics will be in stores August 11th on Decca.

An incredible line-up of artists agreed to participate in this extremely worthy cause benefiting the earth and its future. Several of the nineteen tracks recorded with Rhythms del Mundo were done exclusively for this album including The Killers' stellar interpretation of "Hotel California," alongside KT Tunstall, Editors, Augusto Enriquez, One Republic, The Kooks and Eros Ramazzotti, who all recorded songs specifically for Classics as well. Maintaining a high caliber of musicianship, RDM also put their own twist on many other previously recorded selections including The Rolling Stones' "Under The Boardwalk," Amy Winehouse's "Cupid," Fall Out Boy featuring John Mayer's "Beat It" and Jack Johnson's, "Imagine."

Rhythms del Mundo - Classics is the second release from UK climate change charity, Artists Project Earth (APE) formed in 2005 following the devastating Indian Ocean tsunami. This album follows in the footsteps of their first release Rhythms Del Mundo - Cuba! (featuring Coldplay, U2, Radiohead, Arctic Monkeys and others), which was certified platinum and gold in many countries and met with critical acclaim. The Independent in the UK noted it was "an album made with such integrity and passion that turns out as entertaining as this, is hard to resist."

As a result of APE, more than 170 groundbreaking projects have been funded globally, all of which are developing solutions to climate change. Multiple Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter; Jack Johnson commented on spreading awareness of the endeavor, "Short term upside - less jackets in the winter. Long term downside - a potentially uninhabitable environment due to our lack of awareness," while KT Tunstall noted; "Our planet is in crisis; the poorest populations of the world who have contributed least to the problem are already experiencing the disastrous results of our way of life in the industrialized world. We in developed nations must all work together as a global team to reduce our levels of consumption and waste, and put pressure on our governments to do the same." Rhythms del Mundo's producer and founder of APE, Kenny Young said; "These great artists have given up their time to be part of an album that will raise awareness and funds for the most crucial crisis facing us today. Climate change is our greatest global challenge - so join us and act now to do something positive for our future."
