Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras (BYSO), one of the finest youth orchestras in the country, will perform its annual spring concert at Symphony Hall on Sunday, March 14, 2010 at 3 pm. The
Boston Youth Symphony (BYS), the premier ensemble of the
Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras, conducted by
Music Director Federico Cortese will perform Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5, Stravinsky's Suite No. 1 for Small Orchestra and Weber's Concertino featuring BYSO Concerto Competition Co-Winner Nicholas Davies.
BYS is the most advanced of six ensembles that comprise the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras. This 120-member ensemble engages students grades 5-12 from dozens of communities throughout New England. BYS performs a wide range of demanding orchestral repertoire, conducted by Mr. Cortese.

The BYSO's Repertory Orchestra (REP), conducted by Joel Bard and Junior Repertory Orchestra (JRO), conducted by Adrian Slywotzky, will open the concert.
