MONTREAL, CANADA (Top40 Charts/ Canadian Blast BBQ PR) - Canada keeps the Olympic-paced party going with the 5th Annual Canadian Blast BBQ at SXSW on March 17, 2010, at Brush Square Park from 3pm to 7pm. A highlight of the annual SXSW Music and Media Conference, the Canadian Blast BBQ kicks off a multi-day extravaganza of events showcasing all the great music Canada has to offer. Here's your chance to experience Canadian hospitality alongside some of the country's best talent. Sets by Born Ruffians (Ontario), You Say Party! We Say Die! (British Columbia), Hollerado (Ontario), Radio Radio (New Brunswick), Plants and Animals (Quebec) and Justin Rutledge and The Beauties (Ontario) in a unique presentation, takes place under the big top in sunny Austin. Open to Platinum and Music badge holders, the event is expected to attract thousands of SXSW delegates again this year from around the world.

Starting Thursday, March 18 at noon, Canada House will be the center of Canadian music day and night. Located at Upstairs At Paradise (6th Street and Trinity), the venue is in the thick of SXSW action and features showcasing artists from every province and every musical style. Canada House will feature daytime industry showcases/parties from Noon to 6:00pm on Thursday, March 18 through Saturday, March 20. In the evening SXSW will program more great Canadian acts at Canada House.

Canada will also host the Canadian Blast Stand at the SXSW Trade Show in the Austin Convention Center. The stand will serve as a command post and resource centre to meet with Canadian music reps, pick up the Gig Guide, attend the Block Party, see live performances and take home some great merch.
