NEW YORK (Blu Cantrell Official Website) - Due to the overwhelming press calls generated by the stabbing at Blu Cantrell's album release party in Paris France, and issues surrounding this tragic incident the following is our response to the incident:

Last Thursday, October 16th, Arista recording superstar, Blu Cantrell, celebrated the No1 status of her chart topping singles and new Arista recorded album Bittersweet with an elaborate record release celebration at the club Milliarder in Paris, France. The party was hosted by Blu's friend and most requested host of elite international soirees Tony Dinero, who came to Paris from his home in Los Angeles to throw the fete for Cantrell. Cantrell celebrated with her fans and even sang an "unplugged" version of her No1 song Breathe for her adoring fans.

Ms. Cantrell and Mr. Dinero along with several friends left the club in the early morning, when a disgruntled club employee viscously attacked Dinero and Cantrell on the street in front of club Milliarder. Cantrell was physically unharmed in the melee, but her friend and the host of the party, Tony Dinero, was repeatedly stabbed in the eye and back of the head while Cantrell watched in horror.

"I am in complete shock by what happened. I can not believe that anything like this can happen, especially in a city like this. A place that I love so much and the home to so many warm and peaceful people." Cantrell stated by phone from the undisclosed hospital in France. "Tony is a wonderful person and a great friend. He flew all the way from LA to Paris to join me in celebrating my album topping the international charts. My heart goes out to Tony and his family and I prey for his speedy and full recovery."
