New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ IMPALA Awards) - The ongoing success of the IMPALA Awards continues with IMPALA announcing its latest European sales awards. Katie Melua's album 'The House', Yolanda Be Cool's summer hit 'We No Speak Americano', and The XX's album 'XX' have now reached Diamond, along with Prince's single 'The Most Beautiful Girl in the World'. British rock band Slade collect a Silver award for their album 'Slade Alive - The Live Anthology'. The list also includes upgrades for Tom Waits' album 'Mule Variations' and Ida Corr Vs. Fedde le Grand's 'Let Me Think About It' to Platinum. Both Editors and Faithless have reached Gold status with their new albums. Other IMPALA Award winners include Gamma Ray (Germany), Groove Armada (UK), Arno (Belgium), Russian Red (Spain) and Vitalic (France). German label Superstar were presented an IMPALA award for their phenomenal success Yolanda Be Cool at Berlin Music Week. IMPALA's participation at Berlin Music Week also included two panels - one celebrating a decade of IMPALA, the other looking at IMPALA's suggested sport-style measures to encourage the development of new talent. The latest IMPALA Awards continues last year's impressive trend and demonstrates impressive performance in the independent sector, especially considering the general economic downturn. The new winners represent 100 million euros in sales, with two Platinum (500k), four Diamond (250k), ten Gold (100k) and thirty Silver (30k) from all across Europe. In total over 680 awards have been registered so far, representing almost 64 million CDs sold and 1.1 billion Euro in revenue.
