Beverly Hills, CA (Top40 Charts/ MGM-PYE-PATHE RECORDS) - Giovanni Di Stefano the Chairman & CEO of MGM-PYE-PATHE RECORDS stated that it was a "lifetime's honour to produce a record such as 'Believe' by such great artists as JustCarmen and Con & Dec of The Bachelors for His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI". Announcing both the release of this special edition for Pope Benedict and being awarded the development and music rights to a brilliant new cartoon by famous artist Viktor Galliano was, said Di Stefano "simply the best way to begin." He stated "what the Pope will think of the rap version of 'I Believe' I just don't know but its great," he said.

The song 'I Believe' was a major hit for The Bachelors who have sold millions of records and had so many hits and still continue to perform to audiences today having released what is now their 70th CD.

Dec Cluskey of The Bachelors said: "When Giovanni asked us to do a duet with Just Carmen we were pleased but you can imagine how happy we were when we knew this record would be a special production dedicated to Pope Benedict. We are from Ireland after all." Just Carmen stated she was "Ecstatic and proud" to record with The Bachelors the historic song for Pope Benedict. " As an Italian its such a great honour," she said.

MGM-PYE-PATHE RECORDS also announced the development of the new cartoon Detective Zardora by famous artist Viktor Galliano. The cartoon will appear regularly on the record company's website and will feature stories about music, artists and music piracy. "We have had enquires already to turn Detective Zardora into a film character but we are in early days and our concentration is for us to produce the music for this cartoon character and we will announce the band that will play and record this," said Mr Di Stefano. " We welcome musicians from all over the world to follow Detective Zardora and if they want to write the theme music they can submit it," stated Mr Di Stefano. " It may not be the conventional way but its the fair way so everyone has a fair chance," he said. The record label has signed a number of new artists in following through the Chairman and CEO edict of "a new way to play, produce and sell music."

Mr Di Stefano also stated that he was pleased with how the industry has reacted to the Record Label's International Music Awards being held in San Marino and "particularly content with the idea that San Marino returns to Eurovision." He stated that the label would do all it could to ensure that small countries that had been "muscled out" of Eurovision like San Marino and Andorra would receive the backing of the label. "I want to see San Marino and Andorra and other small countries participate in Eurovision and for those reasons we have written to both countries offering our backing and support," stated Mr Di Stefano.
"I am confident both countries will return to Eurovision," said Mr Di Stefano.
