Since forming in late 2000 , Jen Urban & the Box has set a high bar in electro-pop, honing their skills across NYC at venues including the Nokia Theatre, CBGBs, The Knitting Factory, and the Blue Note. They have also toured the Northeast, Midwest, and West Coast. This genre-bending team are exemplars of the LGBT community, are endorsed by Daisy Rock Guitars, and were named Best NYC Band by GO! Magazine's Nightlife Awards. JUATB appeared on German reality TV in Der Starpraktikant, a collaboration with Rolling Stone Europe, and was nominated for Best Rock Song at the 2009 OUTmusic Awards. From 2008-09, JUATB held an 18 date residency at Brooklyn hot spot Sugarland, in addition to performing at OUTmusic's Stonewall 25th Anniversary Benefit Concert, Murray Hill's Miss Lez Pageant, and QxBxRx (voted Best Queer Party on The Village Voice Hot List).
Jen Urban & The Box are currently among the talents signed to roc-elle records, a music label, artist management & event company specializing in electronica, dance rock, and hip hop. Founder Rachel Mary Cox has worked in mgmt since 2004, with 5 years at the firm DAS, handling clients incl. Fergie/BEP, John Legend, Joan Osborne, The Veronicas, Ke$ha, The Disco Biscuits, and Wyclef Jean. roc-elle records have released 4 albums and also currently represent NYC artists Zack Hagan and ZXL.
