Music to Barnes and Noble store on Fridday evening starting at 7pm. SXSW celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, hosting no less than 1,900 bands during its
Music week, March 16-20, 2011.
Past artists include winners and finalists of the USA Songwriting Competition that went on to get signed and hit the charts after the showcase.
Kate Voegele was featured at the same showcase in 2006 and was signed shortly thereafter to Interscope Records.

The 16th Annual USA Songwriting Competition is currently accepting entries. Entrants can win a top prize of $50,000 worth of cash and merchandise such as cool gear from Sony, D'Addario Strings, Audio-Technica and more. Also, winning songs will be played on radio. Entrants may enter in 15 different categories such as: Pop, Rock/Alt, Folk, R&B, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Instrumental, etc. USA Songwriting Competition has a long history of having winners getting success, recording and publishing contracts, have their songs placed on the charts as well as having their songs placed on film and television. 2010 winner
