NEW YORK (Atlantic announcement) - It's "frothy" (Entertainment Weekly), it's "saucy" (USA Today), it's "the superfreakiest song on the charts this winter" (Rolling Stone), it's the Grammy-nominated "Milkshake," from the gold-selling new album
"Tasty" by Star Trak/Arista recording artist Kelis, and it's earned her the opening spot on the first leg of Britney Spears' upcoming North American tour. Dates commence at the San
Diego Sports
Arena on Tuesday, March 2nd, running through April 10th at the Continental Airlines
Arena in New Jersey.
"Milkshake," written and produced by the Neptunes, emerged as The back-to-school event of the season, "A banging club jam with a percolating groove, spacey programming and a chant-along chorus," sang People magazine. "Milkshake" peaked with No1 Rhythmic and top 5 Urban radio airplay, while the video - directed by Jake Nava and featuring Kelis' fianc Nas - was in rotations on MTV (where it reached No1 and was a "TRL" staple for a month), BET, and "106 & Park."
