Spectra Records Signs The Apollo Effect
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Selective Image) On April 1, 2011, The Apollo Effect finalized their negotiations and are now celebrating the signing of their worldwide contract with the Spectra Records family. Finishing touches are being put on their new cd, "Escape Plan" which is due for release mid-summer 2011. Spectra Records has also taken on the promotion of the TAE's previous album 'ANTISOCIAL DISORDER' which can be purchased through Spectra Records soon. Tour planning for The Apollo Effect is currently being considered by their management team in Toronto and updates will be available as bookings arise. The Spectra Music Group is a United States music company founded in February 1997 comprising the independent record company Spectra Records-which is based in the United States and Canada.

"We have one of those classic rock 'n' roll stories. It's nothing new, but it's testament to our commitment to the music we're making and the type of conviction we have in the band."

Originally formed in Toronto in 2005, the band began to evolve with the fortunate collision of three Canadian East Coast souls. Though founded by New Brunswick native singer/songwriter Brent Lunney, it wasn't until a couple years after the initial creation of The Apollo Effect when guitarist Shawn Van deSande arrived from Nova Scotia that the evolutionary process of the band began. Two years later another New Brunswick native, bassist Jason Harvey appeared and the heart of the group was established. Since then, they have added two great new players, Andy Lucacescu and Justin Dillon to the project.

In September 2007, The Apollo Effect defeated over of 400 other acts from across Canada to win The Great Canadian Band Challenge. In 2008 they were finalists for 97 HTZ FM Rock Search. 2009 saw them give a brilliant and much talked about showcase performance at the East Coast Music Awards in Newfoundland.

TAE has performed special events with piers such as Our Lady Peace, Finger Eleven, The Trews, Die Mannequin and The Arkells. They also support and have donated their talents to important foundations such as War Child, the Canadian Cancer Society and Sick Kids Hospital.

Their songs have been prominently featured on TV, advertisements and movie trailers for such networks as MTV, ESPN, HBO and The Movie Network https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pP0hN787bE. Appearing in such shows as Resident Evil: Extinction https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EElSfME9jJM, The Kardashians, Real World Challenge and recently Degrassi, which seems to be earning the band a whole new audience.

Now focused on the release of their new disc in Mid-Summer 2011, Brent explains where the band is both musically and mentally ready for more. "Escape Plan" is a departure from the style of record that was Antisocial Disorder. We're trying something completely different for us. Video production is also beginning for a new video for one of the tunes of the new album, Night Time to be produced and directed by Toronto filmmaker, Jimmy Keegan.

The Apollo Effect is excited to announce their new relationship with The Spectra Records Group of Companies - https://www.spectrarecords.com and are looking forward to a mutually beneficial relationship.
