Gaining an astounding reaction from his fans, it seemed like a natural progression for the singer to sign with a major label such as Sony.
"I'm very excited about my solo project. It has been a long journey to come to this point in my life." Nicco said in a recent statement.
Nicco's amazing stage presence, vocals and lyrics drew the attention of many fans asking him about pursuing a solo project. The goal had always been for Nicco to get the opportunity to be a solo artist for mainstream music. After the seen success and noticing Nicco's demand increase, they felt it was the right time to pursue Nicco's solo project, shifting from a Euro Dance sound to a Mainstream Pop Dance sound. This dream manifested when Sony decided to support this young and electrifying performer. Sony also had been the supporting label behind the Darius & Finley Feat. Nicco Project. After seeing the success of this venture, Sony realized the fans wanted more of Nicco. Today Nicco is signed to Sony and will have his first upcoming single "Downpour" released on August 5, 2011.
"Years of long nights writing and recording, trying to get out there and be heard is finally paying off." Says Nicco with a smile.
NICCO also worked with producer ROBERT M. on "Dancehall Track", a song that went ahead to receive a Gold Record in 2010 in Poland. Also, Darius & Finlay feat. NICCO received the FaMa Award in Poland for "Destination" for "Most Played Song of the Year 2009 " and were Nominees of 3 Austrian Music Awards and Recipients of "Best Artist" 2010 and "Best New Comer" 2010. NICCO also received an award for "Best Vocalist" for 2010 at the FaMa awards in Poland.
With his continued success, Nicco has not forgotten about his fans. "I am so grateful for the loyalty and on going love and support my fans have shown me. I am also flattered that fans want to give me their shirts, hats or bracelets to show me love. I get asked a lot if they can have my shoes, but I don't want to go home barefoot. It gets cold in Europe in the winter."
