New York, NY (Top40 Charts / Columbia Records) Susan Boyle, the unpretentious Scot who dazzled - and surprised - the world with her hauntingly beautiful voice, returned to NBC's America's Got Talent last night amid a standing ovation to perform "You Have To Be There" from her upcoming third album, Someone to Watch Over Me, which will be released on SYCO/Columbia Records on Tuesday, November 1.
The tune is a showstopper written by legendary Abba duo Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus from their well-known Swedish musical Kristina.
Of her performance Susan said, "I'm so pleased the audience enjoyed the song. I really loved performing that big number. I was also a little nervous introducing something new. America's Got Talent - it's where I started with my first album, so it was wonderful to be back and for the support."
Susan says that the highly-anticipated new album -- her third in just over two years -- features a diverse mix of music that she knows will thrill her millions of fans. "There will be a few surprises on it," she said. "I'm very proud of what I have achieved so far and there is something for everyone. That's all I'm saying at the moment!"
Susan's life turned upside-down the night in 2009 when she performed for the notoriously tough Britain's Got Talent judges, who watched with shock and admiration as she sang "
I Dreamed A Dream" from the musical Les Miserables. Her stunning performance made international headlines and prompted tens of millions of viewings on YouTube.
Soon after, her first two albums, I Dreamed a
Dream and The Gift, dominated global charts, selling over 14 million copies in 14 months and reaching number one in over 30 countries. I Dreamed A
Dream was the most pre-ordered album worldwide of all time and topped the Billboard charts for six weeks.
