New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Kut Official Website) All girl rock trio, The Kut have been playlisted on NME TV Radar this week, NME's spotlight show bringing viewers the very best breakthrough bands. This is brilliant news for the band, who have gone from strength to strength this year. Their recent Love Hate Vampire Shotgun
System Circus Tour was sold out and upcoming concerts now include a Headline Show at Propaganda, the UK's biggest indie night, and stage to acts including
Kings of Leon,
Razorlight and Funeral Party, held at Moho Live, Manchester.
Launched in 2007, NME TV was the logical addition to the popular music magazine, NME, making music videos available to almost 9 million households. Championing new as well as mainstream bands, the channel is available on Sky 382, but now is also featured on Freesat 516, with a base of around 1 million viewers every week. With current playlist videos including
Kings of Leon, Manic Street Preachers, Arctic Monkey's, Beady Eye, The Vaccines,
Two Door Cinema Club and Nero, additional NME TV shows include band interviews, live footage and a number of shows hosted by prominent indie and rock bands. The Kut appeared as the first video on the new Radar show, and appeared back to back with Noel Gallagher and Anna Calvi.
Lead guitarist and lead vocalist for The Kut, Maha said "It's all a bit unreal at the moment - it's so exciting for us right now though - we know we've still a long way to go though, we haven't finished our first album yet"
The new music video 'Closure' demonstrates there is a deeper tone to the band and offers a more
Incubus styled offering to their forthcoming album. The music video has also been snapped up by Sub TV, reaching the screens of Student Unions around the UK, as well on heavy rotation on Tuune TV (Sky 195 / Freeview 5147), where viewers enjoy a good mix of videos including Foo Fighters,
Radiohead and Moby.
"We are delighted The Kut have been selected for the NME TV Radar Playlist", said
Thomas Rossiter at Criminal Records. "It's a great boost for them and all of us here at Criminal Records. Some people said an all female rock band wouldn't work in today's climate, but we are happy to be proving those critics wrong".
