New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ PLA Media) Straight Up Country, Joel's first single off of his sophomore EP by the same name, is enjoying success since its release in May climbing the
Music Row and
Texas Charts. A duet with Jason Allen, Straight Up Country is a traditional country anthem sung by two country cowboys, who are as traditional as they come. Both successful in their own rights, Joel's debut single Leavin' Lubbock was featured in Country Weekly and the music video also landed on CMT and GAC and Jason has topped the
Texas music charts with #1 singles Lucky Arms and Your
Heart Turned Left.
Penned by Steve Guidos, Ward Tolbert and Bill Warrington, Straight Up Country is a tune that Joel believes traditional country music fans can take pride in. "This song is so much of who I am and speaks to what I believe country music should be. I think it is safe to say this is an anthem for traditional country music fans," says Joel.
Country fans may have recently tuned into Joel when he was a guest on Country HitMakers and New
Music Nashville. Joel also recently wrapped a radio tour throughout Texas, Alabama, Tennessee and Arkansas where critics were singing praises on his Straight Up Country hit.
"His in-studio performance was in a word, amazing. Without question he has a great classic country sound. Dare I say a
George Strait-esque sound? He seemed to be a well grounded and genuine individual and I would welcome any opportunity to catch up with him the future."- Alan Hulsey, Morning Show Host WELR Eagle102.3 FM, Roanoke, AL
"As always, Joel is a true gentleman and we really enjoyed his visit. As far as the music goes, we love Straight Up Country."-
David Gonzalez, Program
Director Big Buck Country 98.1, Laredo, TX
"Stays true to his roots for sure! No attitude here...just a desire to sing his songs and entertain."- Rick Barnickel, Morning Show Host KVVP 105.7, Leesville, LA
Joel's passion for singing began with impersonations of Elvis when he was about five or six years old. These usually took place on the back of his Dad's pickup at a rodeo or at any kind of public gathering. From there, he moved onto singing contests and open mic night while transitioning from his home state of Nebraska to Texas. Along the way, he's honed his songwriting, taught himself to play guitar, released two albums, shot his debut music video and continues to front a five piece band. Joel Warren has progressed a great deal in a very short time, while still remaining true to his country roots. To stay updated on Joel, visit www.joelwarrencountry.com
