The Lesbian & Gay Big Apple Corps Symphonic Band Celebrates The Great American Songbook With Cast Party And Broadway's Jim Caruso!
New York, NY (Top40 Charts / Lesbian & Gay Big Apple Corps Organization) The Lesbian & Gay Big Apple Corps Symphonic Band will present its fall concert, The Great American Songbook, under the baton of Artistic Director and Conductor Brian Worsdale on Fri., Dec. 2, 2011 at 8 p.m. The band will perform this concert, the first in its 32nd concert season, at Peter Norton Symphony Space, located at 2537 Broadway at 95th Street.

The Great American Songbook is a collection of favorites from stage and screen by Cole Porter, Richard Rodgers, George Gershwin, Irving Berlin, George M. Cohan, and more! This program will also highlight some of the milestone works for symphonic band that defined the repertoire and fast became audience favorites.

Cast Party and Broadway's Jim Caruso will be hosting and singing with The Lesbian & Gay Big Apple Corps, along with guests from Broadway and beyond including vocalists Klea Blackhurst, Maggie Worsdale, Christopher Johnstone and Trevor McQueen.

Pieces on the program include Porgy and Bess, Cole Porter on Broadway, Irving Berlin Showstoppers, Chester, Star Spangled Salute, Carousel Waltz, Cornet Man, Blue Moon, Soliloquy, Showboat.

The Great American Songbook will play Fri., Dec. 2 at 8 p.m. at Peter Norton Symphony Space, 2597 Broadway at 95th Street, New York, NY. Tickets range from $18 - $26 and can be purchased online at www.lgbac.org, by telephone at 212.864.5400, or in person at the Peter Norton Symphony Space Box Office.
