Marc Ribot, Allman Brothers Aftershows, Stanley Jordan, New Riders Of The Purple Sage, And More Kick Off Spring At Iridium
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) New addition Marc Ribot's Really the Blues closes out an all-star February at The Iridium, leading into a March full of guitar heroes at the Manhattan "guitar shrine" (NY Times). Check out the highlights, including members of The Allman Brothers Band and New Riders of the Purple Sage, plus Andy Timmons, Stanley Jordan, and more:

Marc Ribot's Really the Blues (2/26-27): Guitar iconoclast Marc Ribot's recording credits read like a who's who of songwriters: Tom Waits, Elvis Costello, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, Allen Toussaint, Elton John & Leon Russell, and many more. Ribot will spotlight his own prodigious work as an avant-garde composer exploring the crossroads of roots and jazz at The Iridium.

Allman Brothers After Parties: After The Allman Brothers finish rocking The Beacon each weekend, head to The Iridium for midnight sets by some of the band's most celebrated side projects, collaborators, and associates. Highlights include The Yonrico Scott Band (featuring Allman Brothers bassist Oteil Burbridge and his brother Kofi) 3/16; Jaimoe's Jasssz Band (featuring Allman Brothers drummer Jaimoe) 3/17; Colonel Bruce Hampton 3/24; and more.

New Riders of the Purple Sage (3/9-3/10): NRPS began as a spin-off from the Grateful Dead when Jerry Garcia, Phil Lesh, and Mickey Hart teamed up with John Dawson and David Nelson. Nelson now leads a new incarnation of the band, and they'll hit The Iridium for a special pair of shows in which the first 100 people in attendance receive the group's new album, 'Seventeen Pine Avenue.'

An Intimate Evening with Sophie B Hawkins (3/11): Grammy-nominated vocalist Sophie B Hawkins, who broke through with the indelible hit single "Damn I Wish I Was Your Lover," takes The Iridium stage for another powerful performance to benefit the NY Society for the Prevention of Cruelty To Children.

Stanley Jordan (3/12): Grammy-winner Stanley Jordan is one of the most respected names in jazz guitar, and with his nimbly executed "touch" or "tap" technique, he ushered a dazzling and spellbinding new sound into the world of progressive instrumental music.

Andy Timmons Plays Sgt. Pepper w/ The Les Paul Trio (3/19): As guitarist for pop-metal band Danger Danger, Timmons sold over a million records worldwide and had two #1 videos on MTV, but for one night only at The Iridium he'll pay tribute to one of rock and roll's most iconic albums with The Les Paul Trio.

Tommy Castro (3/25-27): Winner of two Blues Music Awards for Entertainer Of The Year and championed by B.B. King, Castro has been called "the hardest working bluesman on the scene today" by Guitar Player.
