Lakeshore Records To Release The Gone Soundtrack
Los Angeles, CA (Top40 Charts/ CineMedia Promotions) Lakeshore Records will release the Gone - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack digitally on February 21st and in stores on March 20, 2012. The soundtrack features original music by David Buckley (The Town, The Good Wife).

"It's a dark score expressing danger, paranoia and fear, but ends with a sense of restrained defiance and victory," described Buckley.

David Buckley is a British film composer working in LA. He has worked with many of the leading filmmakers of the day including Ridley and Tony Scott, Ben Affleck, Joel Schumacher, Rob Minkoff, Luc Besson, Pierre Morel and Jeffery Katzenberg. Recent film scores include Gone, The Town Book of Dragons, and The Forbidden Kingdom. He is also the composer for the hit CBS TV show The Good Wife, now in it's third season, and has provided the score for Dreamworks/Activision video game - Shrek Forever After.

David's first involvement with film music was as a choirboy performing on Peter Gabriel's score for Martin Scorsese's The Last Temptation of Christ. He continued his musical education at Cambridge University, where he subsequently taught. After graduating, he moved to London and began a successful career writing music for TV shows and commercials. In 2006 David moved to Los Angeles to become an additional writer on a number of Harry Gregson-Williams' scores including Shrek, Gone Baby Gone, Flushed Away, and The Number 23. He has also contributed music to the video game, Metal Gear Solid 4, and the TV show, Shrek The Halls.

David was recently honored as a Brit To Watch by BAFTA.

"The challenge in scoring Gone was to provide a layer of tension and intrigue, but one that did not get too big or ahead of the story," said Buckley. "A string orchestra and piano feature in many cues, but the filmmakers did not want a traditional score, hence these conventional sounds are used alongside non-standard instrumentation and textures. The score is based around a 5 note motif that at times is used explicitly and elsewhere is twisted and distorted within the musical fabric."

In the suspense thriller, Gone, Jill Parrish (Amanda Seyfried) comes home from a night shift to discover her sister Molly (Emily Wickersham) has been abducted. Jill, having escaped from a kidnapping a year before, is convinced that the same serial killer has come back and taken Molly. The police think Jill is crazy and are unwilling to use their resources to help her. Afraid that Molly will be dead by sundown, she sets out alone on a heart-pounding chase to find the killer, expose his secrets and save her sister.

Summit Entertainment and Lakeshore Entertainment present Gone, in theaters on February 24, 2012. Gone--Original Motion Picture Soundtrack on Lakeshore Records will be available digitally on February 21st and in stores on March 20, 2012.
