NASHVILLE (Top40 Charts) - Brad Paisley was thrilled to receive a recent CMA nomination for male vocalist of the year and two CMA nominations in the vocal event category, one for "Too Country" with George Jones, Buck Owens, and Bill Anderson and the other for "Hard To Be A Husband, Hard To Be A Wife" with Chely Wright
"What a wonderful honor to be up for three CMAs," said Paisley after learning of his nominations on Tuesday (August 28). "It's extra great to share two of these awards with four of my closest friends in the industry - Chely, Buck, George, and Bill. I drove over to George Jones's house to tell him about the "Too Country" nomination ...he was mowing his lawn, and stopped to hear the news. He said to me, 'Son, that's great! I just bought four brand-new suits...I can wear one to the show.' I called Buck who was very excited; and he reminded me that both he and I are up for two different vocal event awards - he's up for one with Dwight [Yoakam] too. I only wish that the male vocalist of the year category had six slots - because I truly believe that Kenny Chesney should be up for this."

Before hearing of his latest CMA nominations, Paisley and a few of his band members attended the singer's 10-year high school reunion at John Marshall High School in Glen Dale, West Virginia. Paisley's drummer, Ben Sesar, and keyboard player, Kendal Marcy, both posed as reunion impostors, taking on the names George Scherzer and Ken Cawfield and made their way into the Class of 1991 festivities. Throughout the evening, Scherzer and Cawfield mingled with supposed-classmates--many of which were left scratching their heads and wracking their memories.

The two handled themselves and their impostor roles so well that they even ended up in the Class of 1991 John Marshall High School 10-Year Reunion official photograph--and even received a commemorative paperweight.
