Classical Music Welcomes New Sound
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Sarah Dukes Official Website) "Finding Forever," a collection of original piano solos composed by Sarah Dukes, has just hit the market of classical music. Dukes is a Hasidic woman living in Brooklyn, New York, who began composing soulful, compelling pieces at a young age. Her music conveys raw emotion in its purest form. Every note rings with a stunning sincerity and is bursting with an energy that will capture the attention of an array of listeners. The stirring compositions are played to perfection by the highly acclaimed musician and composer, Yaron Gershovsky.

A self-taught composer originally from North Carolina, Dukes began playing piano at age six and composed her first song, titled "Elephant in Tights," at eight years old. She continued composing throughout her academic career and two of her songs won awards in the Performing Arts Senior Division for the Pittsburgh JCC's Annual Holocaust Arts and Writing Composition. Her music, which listeners say creates a calm aura, is ideal for relaxation, enhancing creativity, and even for film soundtracks. Recently, Jewish Educational Media has used her resonating songs to infuse emotion into two of their popular documentaries.

To ensure the perfect execution of her songs for her debut album, Dukes turned to world-renowned pianist, composer, and musical director, Yaron Gershovsky, who agreed to perform and preserve the exact sound and emotions in Dukes' mind. Gershovsky is the musical director and pianist for the famed vocal group The Manhattan Transfer. He has been touring with them around the globe for many years and has recorded and arranged for them both vocally and instrumentally. Impressed with her songwriting skills and affected by the emotion she infused with each song, Gershovksy considered it an honor to channel Dukes' music.

When composing her music, Dukes tends to consider her emotions first and structure second, resulting in musical sequences that are both emotive and natural sounding. Rather than share with listeners the thoughts and emotions that went into each melody, Dukes says that she prefers to give people the opportunity to interpret the music in a way that resonates with them.

One thing every listener will hear is an unmatched sound that is unmistakably from Dukes' heart. "Finding Forever" is in a class of its own. All fourteen songs on the album are melodic and soothing instrumental solos, sometimes introspective -- like the deep-keyed "Troubled Thoughts" and "Up Toward Heaven" -- and often hopeful and uplifting, like "Tomorrow's Dream" and "Star Catcher."
