LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ MSO PR) Iconic guitarist
Slash has partnered with MATIvision to create the world's first multi-camera 360-degree interactive music applications for the Apple iPad, iPod and iPhone to accompany his newly released album Apocalyptic Love.
The apps let you follow every moment of the band performing songs from their new album through six 360-degree spherical cameras. You choose the camera angle via touch or gyroscopic control - each camera rotates a full 360-degrees. Pinch in or out on your device to use the zoom feature to get closer to the action. Each app also includes additional content, such as exclusive photos and song lyrics. Slash360 provides a unique way to experience Slash, Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators unlike anything else.
There are two versions of the app to choose from - one version includes the hit single "
You're A Lie" along with lyrics and other extras (https://itunes.apple.com/app/slash-360-lt-apocalyptic-love/id524517739?mt=8) and the second a full version that includes the full Apocalyptic Love album, photos, lyrics and other extras (https://itunes.apple.com/app/slash-360-apocalyptic-love/id524544296?mt=8). The apps are priced in the United States iTunes store at $0.99 and $4.99, respectively. Pricing varies by territory.
"The way we recorded this album was pretty much live as we played it,"
Slash explains. "It was an "old school" way of doing it and captures the energy of the band in the best possible way. Being able to capture the band and allow fans to experience it as if they were in the room is very cool, it's like being in the room with us."
Slash and his band featuring lead singer Myles Kennedy, drummer Brent Fitz and bassist Todd Kearns aka The Conspirators have just released Apocalyptic Love (May 22). Apocalyptic Love stormed onto the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart at #4, marking the top rock debut for that week. The disc also debuted at #1 Independent Albums Chart and #1 Hard
Music Albums Chart. All songs on Apocalyptic Love released on Slash's own Dik Hayd International, and distributed through EMI Label Services were written together by
Slash and Myles Kennedy as they spent the last two years on tour all over the world. In addition, Apocalyptic Love is also Top 5 in seven countries outside the U.S. Critical acclaim is pouring in for the album and its hard-driving first single "You're A Lie."
Revolver magazine declared, "Apocalyptic Love is at heart a collection of lean, high-octane rock-and-roll tunes built to be blasted out of open-top sports cars or, more suitably, open-air stadiums" (July 2012). The Los Angeles Times added, "Fans of his work in GNR and
Velvet Revolver will find much to embrace in the album's 13 tracks, ranging from the sneering rock hooks of 'You're a Lie' and the heavy metal grind of 'Halo' to the extended instrumental passages on 'Anastasia.'" Elsewhere, Rolling Stone.com hailed, "the album is filled with head bangers and plenty of fancy fretwork, most notably on standout tracks like 'Hard and Fast' and 'Standing in the Sun.'"
Slash and his band are currently on the road performing sold-out shows across the country and overseas.
