RECORD OF THE WEEK
Seether ft. Amy Lee - Broken Seether are Shaun Morgan, Dale Stewart, John Humphrey and Pat Callahan are the new powerful rock outfit to come out from the States, along with Amy Lee from Evanescence for added vocals. This track is taken from the forthcoming summer blockbuster movie The Punisher soundtrack album.
The track 'Broken' is a powerful rock ballad, totally awesome song, its an excellent track, that will guarantee this song a sure fire hit, buy it, make this song a No.1 record. If you like Evanescence, you will certainly like this band, hoping for more rock music to come from this band.

HOT SHOT RECORD
Lou Reed - Satellite of Love 'Satellite Of Love 2004' is a remix of the Lou Reed original, which has never previously been released as a single until now. The original 'Satellite Of Love' is taken from Lou Reeds 'Transformer' album. But I forgive Satellite of Love, because not only does the new version sound fresh and contemporary, it's got me listening to Transformer, Reed's seminal album produced by David Bowie and Mick Ronson. You could easily mistake Transformer for a best of album (Viscous, Perfect Day, Walk on the Wild Side), but it's not. It's an incredibly together album that's of its time without being in any sense dated: an album with something to say, that still worth listening to again and again.

Ash - Starcrossed Three lads, one girl and a host of indie anthems that make you feel like you've just fallen in love for the very first time. Ash are legends of the music world, effortlessly creating off massive tunes that most bands spend their entire careers trying to achieve. Taken from the band's studio album 'Meltdown' comes 'Starcrossed' a beautifully realised love song that reaches for the heavens at every cascading guitar line. Ash rule with their great rock anthems, another added bonus to their single catalogue.

Badly Drawn Boy - Year Of The Rat Ask the typical person on the street to portray a pop star and chances are, unless they possess a bitter humour, their imagination figure will boast few of Badly Drawn Boy's traits, such as his trademark the tea cosy on his head. 'Year Of The Rat' is a classic dose of effortless song writing from the legendary Badly Drawn Boy. Taken from his highly acclaimed new album 'One Plus One Is One', 'Year Of The Rat' is one of Badly Drawn Boy's strongest tracks to date.

The Cure - End Of The World Classic 80s band The Cure with their gothic make-up, mad hair and all signifies one indie band The Cure. From 'Love Cats' to 'Friday I'm In Love', The Cure have produced some of the finest songs to ever hit the charts. You can add 'The End Of The World' to that list, a triumphant blast of energy featuring a magnificent chorus and suitably plaintive lyric it is one of the best Cure tracks ever, without a doubt. Taken from their forthcoming album 'The Cure'. Welcome back, we all missed you.

Estelle - 1980 Proving that ladies really are good at doing two things at once, Estelle combines raw and hip hop with a marketable sensibility that has 'hit' written all over it. '1980' features solid lyrics, easily reached vocals and a huge chorus and recalls Estelle's youthful accomplishments that got her to where she is today. This is destined to be one of the standout tracks of the summer. It's catchy and it's cleverly written, and once it's in your head you just can't get it out.

PJ Harvey - You Come Through 'You Come Through', is the second single from Polly Jean's hugely successful studio album 'Uh Huh Her' which is a brilliantly distinctive song that is direct and beautifully lyrically such as "We are waiting, For the summer, The sun will bring back, Treasures for us" beautifully written and performed by the artist herself.

Kimberley Locke - 8th World Wonder The girl - Kimberley Locke - that swept the nation at the American Idol competition, releases her debut single 'Eighth World Wonder' she finished third in 2003 behind Reuben Studdard and Clay Aiken. This track is at this time, is one of the biggest selling hit single in the States of this year and has the same kind of present-day pop feel which has helped cross Shania Twain over from her 'old country roots'.

Katie Melua - Crawling Up A Hill Katie Melua is back with her brand new release 'Crawling Up A Hill', the girl that took Britain by storm at the beginning of her, with her astounding break through debut album 'Call Off The Search' which has attained huge sales matching the likes of Joss Stone and her live performance at The Brits this year with Jamie Cullum have impressed us all. 'Crawling Up A Hill' is the third single from her studio album and features Katie's unique blend of jazz and blues wrapped around her gorgeous vocals. A beautiful song from a beautifully talented individual, 'Crawling Up A Hill' will become a masterpiece, and again bringing her to the attention of the Jazz & Blues music scene.

Alanis Morrissette - Out Is Through Alanis Morissette returns with her brand new single 'Out Is Through', taken from her magnificent new studio album, 'So Called Chaos', 'Out Is Through' is lyrically and musically thoughtful throughout, with deep meaningful lyrics. The absence of a world-class co-songwriter plays a part, but it's a refreshing change to see no external involvement. Accept Morissette for what she is - a female singer/songwriter with an exceptional, original voice and you won't be disappointed.

Royal Gigolos - California Dreaming Composed by The Mama's & Papa's and first released in 1966 on the album 'If You Can Believe Your Eyes And Ears', 'California Dreaming' has crossed decades as an anthem around the world and has since been covered by the likes of The Beach Boys and The Carpenters. Now in 2004 the Royal Gigolos have produced the first club version of 'California Dreaming' ever to be authorised by the Mama's & Papa's estate. Since its release in Europe earlier in 2004 it's held the No1 spot in the German Club Charts for 10 weeks and reached No.2 in the French commercial charts.

The Streets - Dry Your Eyes Mike Skinner is back with his brand new release 'Dry Your Eyes, from the acclaimed album 'A Grand Don't Come For Free', surely tipped for this year's Mercury Prize Award. The lyrics are honest, yet the sweet strings and acoustic guitar arrangements make Skinner's desperation hit you hard with his attention to simple detail. This is quite a catchy number and it should do very well in the chart, a top 5 hit in the making, or even a No.1, next week.
