LOS ANGELES (www.kirbyshields.com) - Hot R&B recording artist Kirby Shields will be shooting his "Freakalicious" music video with Hollywood funnyman Gallagher to promote Shields upcoming album "Pleasure And Pain", which will be released in August 2004.

Gallagher is presently shooting his new comedy televison series, which will be featuring Shield's music. Industry insiders expect Gallagher's new television show to be on their watch list for this fall's hottest renderings.

Legendary Warner Brothers record producer Ian Samwell discovered Shields in April of 2001, while attending the Sammy's (Sacramento Area Music Awards). Samwell wrote the first top ten rock-and-roll hit in history (Move it) and launched such notable musical acts as America and Small Faces (which included Rod Stewart). Samwell worked with countless other artists, while with Warner Brothers U.K. and Warner U.S.A., such as Jerry Garcia (Grateful Dead), Cliff Richards, Neil Sedaka and many more.

According to Shields, "Freakalicious is a fun up-beat dance song that always gets people on their feet. I asked Gallagher to appear in the video, so we could capture that same magic. Gallagher's always been my favorite commedian and it is always a blast to work with him. The last time I did a show with Gallagher, he covered me with Mustard!"
"My new album has 19 songs and chronicles my life and the lives of those around me. With the video, I want to showcase my song, beautiful women and edgy comic relief with my friend Gallagher. There will be a lot of crazy dancing and we have some really wild things planned, so make sure to email and call MTV to request 'Freakalicious.'"

Shields began his songwriting and recording career, while writing and producing songs with Doug Rasheed. Rasheed later signed with Polygram Records and went on to produce hits for Tupac, Coolio, Brandi and others. Shields later worked with John Fitch in New York and Philadelphia. Fitch was the music producer for Evelyn Champagne King and did her first hit, "Shame."

But Shields next break came when Warner Brothers producer and A/R rep., Ian Samwell worked to develop his music. "Ian Samwell was a genius in the studio, because of his attention to detail and ability to make the most of each song. He really knew how to get the best out of me and I'll always love him for that." (note: Samwell passed away March 13, 2003)
Kirby has also produced original music with Dennis Austin (Bobby Browns' music composer), Flip Kirby (drummer for Bobby Brown), Stephanie Mills, and hit producer Vernell Blake.
