Nashville, Tenn. (Top40 Charts/ Lotos Nile) Indie roots rock band Yarn is celebrating the release of their fourth album,
Almost Home, with an appearance on "Concrete Country" and the debut of the "
Morning Songs" widget.
Yarn will be featured on CMT's "Concrete Country" in an episode premiering Friday, Aug. 31. The episode features three performances and an interview detailing the inspiration and release of
Almost Home.
"Concrete Country" is filmed in the shadow of the historic Ryman Auditorium and within earshot of Lower Broadway's honky-tonks. Previously featured artists include The Lumineers, Carolina Chocolate Drops and the Farewell Drifters. Yarn can be seen performing their original acoustic songs live on downtown Nashville sidewalks at sunset. Click here to see the full series on CMT.com: https://on.cmt.com/Sd1dD1
The band has also launched a video widget to deliver daily updates to fans and websites chronicling the next round of their "
Morning Songs" project. The "
Morning Songs" project began in 2011 when lead singer
Blake Christiana vowed to write one new song every morning for a week as a songwriting exercise. The results of Christiana's labor were then posted on YouTube for fans to enjoy.
The "
Morning Songs" widget delivers real-time video updates as Christiana again experiments with daily songwriting, giving the band's followers a cutting-edge opportunity to interact with Yarn and continue their unwavering support. The widget will launch Friday, Aug. 31 and will be embeddable for websites and blogs.
"'Morning Songs' is the idea that I will pick a theme and write a new song every morning and force myself to finish it," Christiana said. "The widget is great because it puts everything in one place for our fans and supporters. Every day they can see what I came up with - good, bad, pretty or ugly."
Thanks to Kickstarter, an online funding platform, and the band's huge fan support, Yarn surpassed their goal and are now able to supercharge their promotions for the new record. These videos are bringing Yarn to audiences beyond their already devoted fanbase.
Yarn is currently on tour in support of
Almost Home, released March 20, 2012 and produced by legendary sound engineer Bil VornDick. For more information, please visit www.YarnMusic.net.
