New York, NY (Top40 Charts / DigSin Official Website) Richard Barone's newly recorded version of "I Belong to Me" is being released this week on the DigSin label. This single, recorded live at City Winery in New York City on May 4, 2012, launches the 25th Anniversary Edition of cool blue halo, available on October 30, 2012. In addition to the 2-CD and DVD of the May 2012 Anniversary concert, a limited edition deluxe box set will be released. This set will include a commemorative hard cover book, a limited edition 7" vinyl, a cool blue halo T-Shirt, and both the remastered 1987 album and new concert recording.
This exclusive package showcases an album with not only a devout following, but with a reputation that grows every year. "I have always been touched by the many fans over the years who tell me how meaningful cool blue halo has been for them. To honor that album with a 25th Anniversary release and introduce it to a whole new generation is a truly special moment in my career," says Barone.
Richard Barone is an acclaimed recording artist, performer, producer, and author. Since fronting indie-pop icons The Bongos, Barone has produced countless studio recordings and has collaborated with artists in every musical genre -- from Lou Reed and Moby to Liza Minnelli, Tiny Tim and most recently, Pete Seeger. As a musical and theatrical director, he has scored shows and staged all-star concert events at such venues as Carnegie Hall and the Hollywood Bowl. His memoir FRONTMAN: Surviving the Rock Star Myth was published by Hal Leonard Books. Barone lives in Greenwich Village, New York City where he was recently appointed to the Board of Advisors for Anthology Film Archives and as a Professor at New York University's Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music.
