LOS ANGELES (Dirrty Records) - Dirrty Records founder Lunden De'Leon announced today the punk release of Jimi Hendrix's Purple Haze on her Los Angeles-based record label Dirrty Records. "Jimi Hendrix's company Experience Hendrix heard the remake and loved it," says De'Leon, who credits Dirrty Records artist DH Peligro (Dead Kennedys, Red Hot Chili Peppers) for making the song a success. "DH Peligro recently toured South America performing for more than 35,000 fans and gave an amazing performance on MTV so now people worldwide are requesting the song." Regarded as one of the hardest working women in Hollywood, De'Leon started Dirrty Records in August 2003. In 1998, fans recall being introduced to De'Leon as Joanne Mbutu on the hit television series Vital Signs. Years later, the sultry actress catapulted that breakout role into a successful film career with quite an impressive track-record by starring in over fifty movies and television shows like the 20th Century Fox Movie "The Ladies Room," "Surviving Paradise," "Fury," "Faux-Pas," "Cryptz" and the HBO award-winning film "Kickin Chicken." De'Leon has also appeared in music videos for artists like Michael Jackson, Lenny Kravitz and Bon Jovi. In May 2004, De'Leon was inducted into the Caribbean Hall of Fame alongside such legends as Bob Marley and Sidney Poitier. With her popularity, it was only natural for her to be named "One of the Most Beautiful Women in the World" by an online poll and voted "One of the Top Rising Female Stars" by International Black Women Magazine and "The First Black Actress to Star in an Online Series" for her role in the Internet television series "Sitcom." "I enjoy making movies but I'm madly in love with music," says De'Leon. "Dirrty Records is an artist friendly label. We've recently signed a multi-platinum selling artist who was unhappy with her label and receiving bad press. I'm very excited and lucky to have her on the label."
