New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Lil Wayne has made history as he now holds the record for the most Billboard Hot 100 hits. The previous record-holder was the legendary Elvis Presley, but Weezy exceeded the King's 108 entries between 1958 and 2003 with a staggering 109 of his own. The song that tipped the scale was Wayne's feature on The Game's "
Celebration", which entered the particular chart at No 82 this week.
This news comes just in time for the winter release of I Am Not a Human Being II [Cash Money/Republic Records], the rapper's tenth full-length studio album and the sequel to the chart-topping, platinum-selling 2010 smash, I Am Not a Human Being. The collection is preceded by his latest single "
No Worries" featuring Detail and is available on iTunes and other digital retailers now.
Upon its release to radio this month, "
No Worries" immediately became a Top 10 Greatest Gainer at Rhythm and Urban formats. Skating along on otherworldly production and spacey beats, the track sees the MC firing off some his most clever and catchy rhymes ever. Once the hook kicks in, it's abundantly clear Wayne is not a human being; he's one of the greatest rappers ever. It's also the perfect follow-up to the album's first blockbuster single, "
My Homies Still" featuring Big Sean.
It's been a very busy month for the artist. He rang in his 30th birthday by giving back to the New Orleans community with the opening of his Trukstop Skate Park. It's located within the city's Lower 9th Ward Village, one of few surviving structures from Hurricane Katrina. A team effort from Wayne, Mountain Dew, the Make It Right Foundation, and Glu Agency, the Trukstop Skate Park is built completely out of recycled materials and powered by solar energy. It's also open seven days a week for the city's youth beginning October 1st.
Lil Wayne's cultural and musical reign continues with this latest accolade and the release of I Am Not a Human Being II will only solidify his iconic status further.
