New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Plexi PR) Today AFROJACK and ERICK MORILLO announced that they will join the star studded lineup of "Help Heal New York"; Pacha New York's Hurricane
Sandy benefit planned for this Wednesday, November 14. The once-in-a-lifetime night of music feature a huge roster of over 50 DJs, including international and local stars with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the Greater New York Red Cross and other local charities.
Afrojack joins international luminaries including Shermanology (who he teamed up with on "
Can't Stop Me" - championed as the song of the summer) along with Sunnery
James & Ryan Marciano and
Danny Avila; New Jersey's Erick Morillo rounds out the local roster including legends like
Danny Tenaglia, Francois K, Cevin
Fisher and Grammy Award winner Hex Hector. Pacha teases there will be many more announced and unannounced guests.
In 2012,
Afrojack produced a Top 40 record or two (he helmed the boards for Ne-Yo's "Give Me Everything," remixed Michael Jackson's "Bad" and has worked with
Pitbull and Shakira), headlined every festival from Electric
Daisy Carnival to Tomorrowland, and rocked the entire globe with his signature brand of floor-destroying beats. Not only is this your last chance to see
Afrojack before his Jacked tour hits Pier 94 on New Years Eve, but it's also a chance to hear his new releases; including the chart topping "Annie's Theme", out now on Wall Recordings and currently #3 on Beatport.
The local roster wouldn't be complete without Erick Morillo, Pacha New York's co-owner and chairman of the board. "I have so much love for New York and New Jersey and it was devastating to see the effect the storm had on our local communities" Morillo says. "I jumped at the chance to get involved in such a good cause and would like to thank the international dance community for coming together to help get our area back on their feet." Morillo is consistently one of the top-ranked house DJs on the planet, bringing his party style across the globe and keeping the original music coming through his New Jersey-based imprint Subliminal Records. After being honored last month by his hometown of Union City, NJ (who renamed the street he grew up on "Erick Morillo Way"), the tri-state's hometown hero returns to lend a hand.
In addition to donating all profits, the staff of Pacha and all artists are offering their services free of charge. From coat check tips to DJ fees, everyone in the building will be there for the sole purpose of supporting the tri-state area, and getting it back on its feet again.
