DURHAM, NC (Roc-a-fella Records) - Roc-a-fella Records will celebrate its new division, "Roc Music" during the 2004 Southeast
Music and Entertainment Summit (SMES). The new imprint showcases rock, alternative, pop, and R&B artists, several of whom will be on hand at the label's exclusive "Roc Music" showcase on Sunday,
September 26th.
Dubbed the new Motown of the century, Roc Music is proving itself to be a brand new sound for the music lover. Roc-a-fella CEO Dame Dash and former Roc executive Kenny Burns formed "Roc Music" in March 2003. Since Roc-a-fella is already the number one rap label, Burns and Dash wanted to expand it towards being the number one R&B label. Artists Allen Anthony, RELL, Nicole Wray, and Denim will present a special showcase for SMES participants during Sunday's Award Ceremony.
Now in its third year, the Southeast Music and Entertainment Summit continues to establish itself as a regional and national entertainment powerhouse. By bringing the talents of industry veterans like Kenny Burns and Kanye West to developing southern markets, SMES has become an essential component of the southeastern music scene, and a showcase of talent for the industry nationwide.
SMES is proud to announce our sponsors: KOCH Records, Roc-A-Fella Records, Roc Music, Geffen, Raw Dawg, Universal Records, BRE, RDU 919, Armadale Vodka, and Studio 43.
