AUGUSTA, GA (www.gardencityjazz.com) - The August lineup for 2004 Riverwalk
Augusta Candlelight Jazz Concert Series has been finalized and includes more great jazz from local artists. The series has been a hit all summer with bands ranging from
Augusta State University Conservatory to A Step Up to Mellow-D, all new to the lineup this year. Old favorites such as Air Apparent and quietSTORM made a great showing as well, with Wycliffe
Gordon setting attendance records at over 600 guests.
The artist lineup (more info available at www.gardencityjazz.com) continues with:
August 1: Kari Gaffney ('Vocal jazz at its best' - Kari is currently touring and recording her third CD.)
August 8: quietSTORM (Series co-presenters present smooth jazz favorites and new arrangements.)
August 15: Chris Mangelly (An evening of Brazilian jazz led by accomplished pianist and long-time jazz advocate, Chris Mangelly)
August 22: Sounds Unlimited (Jazz for the People: a set that includes show tunes, crowd favorites, and plenty of audience participation)
August 29: quietSTORM (quietSTORM closes out the series with a preview of 'Jazz to Come' and a few original tunes)
