New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) Paste premiered Sons of Fathers' "Roots & Vine" today, saying the "soulful" sound draws on their Texas roots and co-frontman Paul Cauthen's days on a chain gang (yes, they still exist):https://www.pastemagazine.com/blogs/av/2013/02/song-premiere-sons-of-fathers---roots-and-vine.html
Cauthen, who learned to sing perfect harmony from his preacher granddad, was sent to reform school as youngster. After one too many run-ins with school rules and the law, he found himself doing hard time on a Texas chain gang, where he sang spirituals with fellow inmates and marked his 20th birthday.
Profiled by Rolling Stone as a rising band to watch and praised everywhere from the Wall Street Journal to the World Café, the Austin rockers are breaking out into the national spotlight with "airtight" (Austin Chronicle) two-part harmonies and a blistering live show. Let me know if you'd like a digital or physical advance of the album!
