NEW YORK (Top40 Charts) - Jewel will release her third album, This Way, on November 13th. The album is the Alaskan singer-songwriter/poet's first album of new material since 1998's Spirit, not counting last year's spoken-word effort, Chasing Down the Dream. The first single from the new album, "Standing Still," will hit radio next month.

Jewel will be plenty busy in advance of This Way's release. On September 19th, she will take part in the Def Poetry Jam in New York City, which will be filmed by HBO for release later this year. Three days later she will play Mixfest 2001 in Foxboro, Massachusetts, with Nelly Furtado, Alanis Morissette, the Barenaked Ladies and Everclear. On the day after the album's release, Jewel will take the stage at New York City's Irving Plaza at a function hosted by the New York Civil Liberties Union to honor filmmaker Ang Lee and film/television executive Alby Hecht.

For those who can't wait, the Japanese version of This Way will be released on October 31st.
