New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Earshot Media) South Jersey indie rockers By Surprise (www.facebook.com/bysurprise) are premiering their new music video for "Criteria" on IfYouMakeIt.com.
Frontman Rob Wilcox says, "The video was a lot of fun for us. Granted, we try to not take ourselves too seriously, and I think we managed to uphold that standard while still doing the song justice. Pat and his fiancé actually own the house together, so it made recreating his morning routine all the more fun, and for the most part, pretty accurate."
To check out the clip, which was directed by Colin Miller and & Joe Lamberti, head over to: https://www.ifyoumakeit.com/video/by-surprise/criteria.
The band's latest EP, Criteria, was released on January 15th via Topshelf Records and was produced and engineered by Dave Downham (who was also at the helm of their 2011 Topshelf debut, Mountain Smashers) at Familyre Studios inNew Jersey , where such artists as mewithoutYou and Sufjan Stevens have recently recorded.
Safely guarded behind four pairs of glasses and an arsenal of awkward tendencies, the members of By Surprise have spent an equal amount of time combing through the forgotten dust-filled grooves of 7-inch records released during the 90's indie label boom, as they have with the off-beat and inspirational works of Henry David Thoreau, Jack Kerouac, and Douglas Adams.
