NEW YORK (Billboard) - Veteran modern rock act Live will release its fifth Radioactive/MCA album, "Ecstatic Fanatic," in September. The first single "Simple Creed," due to hit U.S. radio on July 31, will precede the 14-track set. The group has a handful of tour dates scheduled prior to the album's release, including a co-headlining appearance with Stone Temple Pilots Aug. 4 at the Rolling Rock Town Fair in Latrobe, Pa. Live frontman Ed Kowalczyk can currently be heard guesting on Tricky's latest single, "Evolution Revolution Love," which debuted at No. 39 on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart this week. The album from which it is drawn, "Blowback," is due Tuesday via Hollywood. "Ecstatic Fanatic" is the follow-up to 1999's "The Distance To Here," which debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and has sold 1 million copies in the U.S.
