NASHVILLE, TN. (www.michaellewismusic.com) - Michael Lewis and his group of top notch contemporary jazz players are scheduled for two upcoming performances at the Gibson Showcase in Nashville, TN, including a televised performance for the MDA telethon on Labor Day weekend.

Michael Lewis will also embark on a tour of the East Coast beginning in late September. Michael has toured the East Coast every Fall for the last three years. This year's cities include: Virginia Beach, VA, Manassas, VA, East Stroudsburg, PA and Highland Lakes, NJ. Check Michael's website for specific times, dates and locations.

Originally from California, Michael Lewis, transplanted to Nashville in '96 to continue his work as a full time engineer, producer and session musician. He toured as the guitarist for Curb Recording artist and Dove nominee, Jamie Slocum and for the Radio Daze Big Band (including a recent appearance at the Paducah Music Festival). He continues to perform with his band at top venues for jazz and blues in Nashville as well as the jazz festivals throughout the region.

Early this year, Michael was signed by Spirit Jazz Records. He then closed his studio to outside projects so he could focus on touring and recording his own albums. Michael will be releasing two projects for the label this fall including a contemporary Christian record with jazz and R&B undercurrents and an instrumental/smooth jazz Christmas project entitled "A Very Cool Christmas." Radio singles are pending.
