PORTLAND, OR. (Allegro Corp.) - Allegro Corporation, one of North America's leading independent entertainment distributors has added another notch to its extensive classical catalogue. Allegro is pleased to announce the finalization of a licensing agreement with BMG Classics for its Arte Nova imprint.

Under the agreement, Allegro will exclusively market and distribute the Arte Nova line in North America. The highly respected German classical label boasts a hefty catalogue of classical warhorses and contemporary works. One of the cornerstones of the Arte Nova catalogue is the critically acclaimed Beethoven Symphony Cycle conducted by David Zinman leading the Zurich Ton Halle Orchestra. Zinman has also recently launched a lauded Strauss orchestral cycle for Arte Nova.
Other noted Arte Nova recordings include works from famed violinist Pamela Frank, pianist Ursula Oppens, renowned conductors Christopher Hogwood, Adrian Leaper, Vaclav Neumann and Renee Clemencic and a fine series of celebrated orchestral works from Ross Pople and The London Festival Orchestra.

Vince Micallef, President and COO of Allegro Corporation states: "We are excited about our collaboration with BMG and the addition of Arte Nova. When it comes to catalogue distribution, we're the best in the business and we are now relied upon by both BMG and EMI for significant portions of their classical lines."

BMG's Arte Nova will bring even more prestige to the existing body of classical labels at Allegro Entertainment, which currently includes highly-regarded luminaries such as Nimbus, EMI Classics imports, Winter & Winter and other classical independents. In addition, Allegro boasts a diversified proprietary catalogue of classical works that includes the best-selling opera line Opera d'Oro, the Russian historic label Moscow Studio Archives, and the adventurous imprint Endeavour Classics. Allegro will be using its experienced and acclaimed graphics and production team to design a new, cutting edge look for the Arte Nova line, which will be exclusive to North American consumers.

Bill Tennant, Allegro Classical Product Manager adds: "The addition of the Arte Nova line brings a large, exciting catalog of critically acclaimed, highly affordable classical titles to our already rich classical roster. Arte Nova has a very respected body of recordings from artists who are well known in the classical community. We're thrilled to help revitalize this line, and to once again make this highly desirable catalog available to North American consumers."

Founded in 1982, Allegro Corporation has grown to cover a broad spectrum of music and entertainment products. Special interest products and an array of distributed music ranging in the genres of jazz, pop, blues, classical, new age and more, can be found at www.allegro-music.com.
