Grammy-Winning Band Phoenix In Concert To Benefit The Grammy Foundation And Grammy In The Schools
Santa Monica, CA (Top40 Charts/ Recording Academy) The GRAMMY Foundation (www.grammyfoundation.org) announced today that GRAMMY-winning band Phoenix, Los Angeles- based indie band Grouplove and powerhouse singer/songwriter LP will perform a benefit concert for the GRAMMY Foundation's GRAMMY in the Schools music education programs on Sunday, Aug. 11 at Club Nokia in Los Angeles. Tickets are available only at www.axs.com beginning at 10 a.m. PT on July 19. General admission tickets are $39.50 per person and VIP balcony tickets are $49.50.

"It's truly inspiring to see artists give their time and talent to support our GRAMMY Foundation mission and programs," said Neil Portnow, President/CEO of The Recording Academy and the GRAMMY Foundation. "We work throughout the year to offer GRAMMY in the Schools programs to high school students, teachers and schools, and the generosity of Phoenix, Grouplove and LP will help provide much needed fundraising resources, while delivering a spectacular show for their fans."

Phoenix won their first career GRAMMY for Best Alternative Music Album for Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix in 2009. The group recently released their fifth studio album, Bankrupt! The 10-song collection co-produced by the band and Philippe Zdar, is already one of the most talked-about albums of 2013, garnering praise from critics and fans alike. This very special show is the band's first in the Los Angeles area following their incredible headlining set at this year's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Phoenix are Laurent Brancowitz (guitar, keyboards), Deck d'Arcy (bass), Thomas Mars (vocals), and Christian Mazzalai (guitar).

Formed in 2009, Grouplove have quickly become one of music's most exhilarating young acts. By the time of the release of their 2011 debut full length album, Never Trust A Happy Song, the band was already a standout at music festivals around the world. Produced by drummer Ryan Rabin, the album featured "Tongue Tied," which reached No. 1 on Billboard's Alternative Songs chart and earned platinum certification. Grouplove's second full-length album, Spreading Rumours, arrives Sept. 17. The highly anticipated collection's lead single "Ways To Go" is already Top 10 on the alternative radio charts and climbing. Grouplove are Sean Gadd (bass, vocals), Hannah Hooper (vocals, keyboards), Ryan Rabin (drums), Andrew Wessen (guitar, vocals), and Christian Zucconi (vocals, guitar).

Female vocal sensation LP is a gripping performer, a curly-headed force of nature looking like a cross between a young Bob Dylan and Marc Bolan, albeit often wielding a ukulele. LP's voice is instantly ear-catching, a natural instrument of power and grace. There is something about the Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter/artist that grabs hold - a spirit, an exuberance, a belief in her gifts as a musician and in the power of music to reach people. It comes through her songs, whether written for Rihanna (the 2011 hit "Cheers (Drink To That") and Christina Aguilera ("Beautiful People" from the movie Burlesque), or for herself, such as "Into The Wild" (the song that has tantalized ears through its use in a Citibank TV commercial).
