NEW YORK (www.theverticalginline.com) - On Thursday, September 2 at 10:00 pm, The Vertical Gin Line, a five-piece alternative rock group from New York City, will be coming home to the famous CBGB landmark music club in the East Village to throw a CD Release Party for the group's first major recording, titled Repressed Hero Issues.

The band will be performing the album in its entirety in front of what TVGL hopes is a packed house. "We're very excited by the opportunity to come home to the East Village to release this disc at a legendary club," said guitarist and co-founding member Todd Hovanec of the band's upcoming gig at CBGB.

CBGB, which stands for "country bluegrass blues," is a New York City nightlife icon, having helped launch the careers of such famous acts as The Ramones, Blondie, Patti Smth, and The Talking Heads. "This is great exposure for us," said Matt Moscardi, singer and co-founder of The Vertical Gin Line. "We can't wait to get up on stage and give the CBGB's crowd a killer performance - it'll be electrifying. There's always great energy there."

Repressed Hero Issues is an eight-song debut CD, written by Hovanec and Moscardi. Influenced by The Beatles, Radiohead, Rage Against the Machine and Pearl Jam to name a few, it was recorded in various studios in New York City. "We're very proud of it and we hope you like it," Hovanec said.

The Vertical Gin Line is Todd Hovanec, Matt Moscardi, Tom Goehring, Tom Clancy Jr., Allen Pachence. For more information, please go to the band's website: www.tvgl.com or email [email protected]
