NEW YORK (McDonald's press release) - McDonald's Will Be Presenting Sponsor of Fernandez' 'A Corazon Abierto' Tour 2004 and Will Partner in Philanthropic Causes to Benefit the Hispanic Community

In continuing its tradition of offering the best of Latin music to its customers through LoMcXimo de la Musica, McDonald's is teaming up with one of the hottest and most beloved Latin music stars - Alejandro Fernandez. McDonald's will be sponsoring his much-anticipated U.S. concert tour and working with him to support philanthropic causes through the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) to benefit the Hispanic community.

Fernandez "A Corazon Abierto" Tour 2004. The U.S. Tour, featuring Alejandro's acclaimed live performance and world class production, will kick November 18th in Sacramento, CA, and make its way to Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Atlanta and other major markets. (See below for dates)
"The LoMcXimo de la Musica program continues to bring our customers closer to their favorite Latino performers," said Rick Marroquin, McDonald's director of marketing. "Teaming up with Alejandro Fernandez goes beyond music for us. The opportunities that we will have to support RMHC and improve the health and well being of children is a dream combination of entertainment and good will."

In addition to the concert tour, Fernandez will participate in public service announcements supporting programs conducted by RMHC and McDonald's. Some of these programs include RMHC/Hispanic American Commitment to Education Resources (RMHC/HACER) scholarship program, one of the largest high-school to college scholarship programs in the nation and World Children's Day, a global fundraising effort at McDonald's that benefits RMHC and other children's organizations in over 100 countries such as Mexico, Colombia, South Africa and France.
"It is very gratifying to know that I can use my talent to contribute to these great causes that benefit so many of my fans," said Fernandez. "And of course, I am really looking forward to bringing the new show to everyone in the U.S."

This is a very productive summer for Alejandro. His highly anticipated new album of pop material "A Corazon Abierto" will be released on September 7th, while the first single off the album "Me Dedique a Perderte" is already in heavy rotation in radio and television. He also made his cinematic debut in the critically acclaimed film Zapata. He is nominated for a Latin Grammy with his legendary father Vicente Fernandez for best ranchero album.

Alejandro Fernandez exemplifies the best that modern Mexico's culture offers: He channels its rich tradition through his music and personifies its future with his appeal around the world. He is one of the world's best vocalists, has sold more than ten million albums, performed in front of millions of fans and is just beginning to explore his talent as an actor. The future is his
