AUGUSTA, GA (www.WycliffeGordon.com/ www.redwolf-inc.com) - International trombone sensation, Wycliffe Gordon is giving back to his home town by giving cash support to our community's next generation of artists to help them pursue their dreams.

Proceeds from the 'Christmas in the Garden City' concerts and a special VIP fundraising concert on October 1st at the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame's Botanical Gardens will benefit the Wycliffe Gordon Scholarships for CSRA Student Artists.

Tickets for the VIP Concert featuring Wycliffe Gordon performing with Three Sixty are $125 each or $750 for a table of ten. In addition to an intimate concert with Wycliffe in the beautiful Botanical Gardens, an open bar will be available and guests will be served an exquisite dinner buffet by SILVER PALMS, and Gourmet Coffee Bar by ESPRESSO MASTERS. To ensure an intimate atmosphere, a very limited number of seats are available. Funds raised from the VIP Concert will assist in covering the Christmas concert costs from which proceeds will go toward the scholarships.

To cover the diversity of arts in the CSRA, 8 categories of artistic competition were selected. Students can submit creative works for the following:
1. Instrumental (Ages 15-20)
2. Vocals (Ages 12-19)
3. Dance/Performance (Ages TBA)
4. Visual Art (Ages 10-13)
5. Writing (Ages 16-18)
6. Sculpture (Ages 15-20)
7. Photography (Ages 10-15)
8. Film/Video (Ages 18-21)
A panel of judges, specializing in each artistic field, will select one winning piece from each category. Winning students will be awarded $500 each. Honorable mentions will also be awarded if the judges determine merit.
Submissions will be accepted beginning on September 1 and deadline for submissions is November 12, 2004. Submission applications with details on competition rules and submission guidelines will be available online by September 1st at www.WycliffeGordon.com or by requesting via email: [email protected].
Winners and Honorable Mentions will be announced during Christmas in the Garden City intermission on Dec. 17 & 18.
A Reception will be held for the winning students and honorable mentions prior to the Friday Concert. Some students will be interviewed and provide brief performances for the televised concert on Channel 12 on Christmas Day.

Christmas in the Garden City performances will be on December 17th and 18th at the historic Imperial Theatre. Each night features a different lineup of world-class performers. Tickets are $13, $26 and $46 per person. Special two night packages are available for $42 and $77.
