New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Green Light Go) Magnet Magazine features Midnite on

The song is a timely affair as a new crop of independent thinkers immersed in environmental and food sustainability and well-crafted goods ala Etsy, rally against big box bravado and cookie cutter culture to embrace a philosophy of individuality and their own breed of success; it is not without frustration along the way. "Modern Gods" looks at today's culture and what we value and tries to make sense of it all. The lyric, "If I chew the fat until its soft, can I meet the gods on the mountain top," hones in on the idea that if we talk long and loud enough and hang around long enough, can we break through the wall that holds us back from, well, "success" and do we have to placate some mysterious string puller who is at the top of the culture heap to get there.
Singer, songwriter, and guitarist Justin Jahnke started Midnite On
Pearl Beach in 2012 to continue his exploration of American music, shadowy rock and roll, and rose-colored rhythm and blues. On Lamplighter Midnite on
Pearl Beach is akin to a badass country flea market, hocking stacks of dusty sun bleached records, cheap knock-off Les Paul guitars and old cowboy boots that still have a lot of life left in them; in a phrase, an unexpected treasure trove.

On "Modern Gods": "[T]he sounds hearkens back to '70s progressive rock -- including a nice synth break -- while still sounding very much in the melodic moment." - KDHX - Song of the Day
