Singer-songwriter Shola Kaye Releases New LP 'My Own Way'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ MondoTunes) The multinational singer-songwriter known as Shola Kaye has released her newest LP, titled "My Own Way - from Motown to London." The album is comprised of 10 tracks for an approximate total listening time of half an hour. A soulful, sonorous walk through the sonic imagination of a chanteuse unlike any other, "My Own Way - from Motown to London" is as appropriately titled as it is well-written and excellently performed, and a must-listen for audiophiles all over the globe.

Shola Kaye, who lives in London, makes her living as a nightclub singer with an exceptionally popular Motown and Diana Ross set. Her music is largely centered in the sixties pop and soul music movements, utilizing delicate, sweeping harmonies and the same emphasis on deep groove that eventually became the funk movement of the '70s. In addition to her astounding, impeccable vocal abilities, she also accompanies herself on electric guitar, with which she is adept.

Kaye cites as main artistic influences legends such as John Martin, Quincy Jones, Al Green, Karen Clark-Sheard, Stevie Wonder, DeeDee Bridgewater, Tuck and Patti, Ella Fitzgerald, Mark Murphy, and Smokey Robinson. Indeed, elements of each of these titans of soul music are easily descried in Kaye's own music, and her performances are easily of the same high caliber.

She has held jazz residencies in the London area at locales such as Harvey Nichols, Toulouse Lautrec, and Smithfield Bar and Grill. She has performed at Shepherd's Bush Empire, Hyde Park, Cafe De Paris, the Groucho Club, Park Lane Hilton, the Natural History Museum and innumerable other UK venues. She has played in Russia, the USA, Spain, Greece, the Middle East and appeared live on Iranian TV. Her original material has garnered both awards and publishing deals in the professional music industry. Performing in various bands, Shola has variously supported Florence and The Machine, George Mellie, Tony Hadley and Paul Young.

"My Own Way - from Motown to London" by Shola Kaye is available online worldwide beginning 12 October, 2013. Get in early.

The LP "Shola Kaye" is distributed globally by MondoTunes (www.MondoTunes.com) and is available at iTunes for convenient purchase and download
