HOUSTON, TX. (www.jenrathbun.com) - Jen Rathbun could only dream that her performance in the Radar Talent Group's National Singer/Songwriter Auditions in June of 2003 would take her this far. She is set to release her new album, 'Coffee, Chocolate, and Men' from her new record label, Platinum Plus Records, in October of this year.

Rathbun's performance in front of Sony's Tom Long, and former Mercury Records executive, Charlie Fach, led to her winning the top prize awarded by Radar Talent Group, which included a trip to Nashville, a performance at the famous Bluebird Cafe, and a meeting with Platinum Plus Records executive and Independent Producers Hall of Fame inductee, Robert Metzger.

Rathbun's performance at the Bluebird was stellar and drew the attention of several record executives in attendance. Metzger wanted to sign her immediately and acted quickly. Contracts were drawn, and in the next few weeks, the deal was struck. Jen Rathbun was now a Nashville recording artist.

Metzger, a three-time winner of Cashbox's Producer of the Year, co-produced the new album himself and employed the production skills of Tony Migliore, another award winning producer. Migliore and Metzger filled the studio with top Nashville talent, including a contingent of the Nashville Symphony, to play on the predominantly jazz-flavored album.

Metzger recognized Rathbun's talent and remarked, 'She's one of the best I've heard and has a real chance at making it big.' Metzger added, 'We've spared no expense on this album, but I felt like we needed just the right sound for such a great talent.'

Lucky Boyd, music critic, advisor, and co-founder of MyTexasMusic.com said the disc was, 'quite possibly the sexiest album ever recorded.'
The album is eleven cuts of original music, all written or co-written by Rathbun. Jen's tantalizing voice ranges from suggestive and playful to sultry and soulful as she performs tracks like 'Nasty,' 'Doctor Of Love,' and 'Cool Cat.' The opening cut, 'All I Want Is You,' is set to be the nationally released radio single later this year.

Rathbun's work has been compared to the likes of Rosemary Clooney and Billie Holiday, but the album also contains a healthy dose of humor and double-entendre. There's even a hidden track of one of Rathbun's most popular tunes. Jen says, 'The hidden track was there for the fans, but it didn't really fit the feel of the album. It gets requested so much, I couldn't just leave it off, so we hid it.'

The album, released only on CD, will be available on October 2rd at the official release party at JP Hops House, 2317 South Highway 6 in Houston. Information about the release party can be obtained by calling Sixerdoodle Music's promotion department at (888)204-9591. The CD will be available online at MyTexasMusic.com or at www.jenrathbun.com.
