Chris Thile Gives Strathmore Crowd A Thrilling Performance!
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Chris Thile brings the music of his new Nonesuch album, Bach: Sonatas and Partitas, Vol. 1, and much more to two universities this weekend, closing out the US leg of his solo tour: the University of Florida in Gainesville tonight and a sold-out show at Emory University in Atlanta on Saturday. Thile heads to Europe on Tuesday, kicking off a week-long tour that includes stops in Dublin, Edinburgh, London, Amsterdam, Salerno, and Barcelona.

The Washington Post 's Robert Battey, reviewing Thile's performance at the Strathmore on Wednesday, says it was "a thrilling performance," exclaiming: "Let it be known: Chris Thile is amazing." Battey concludes: "Thile was a graceful and soulful singer, relaxed raconteur, dazzling virtuoso, gifted composer and all-around charmer, who gave the audience more than its money's worth." Read the review at washingtonpost.com.

The Philadelphia Inquirer 's David Patrick Stearns says a recent performance at Princeton found Thile "negotiating the considerable intricacies of Bach's Sonatas and Partitas" and offering "a tour de force, obviously. But Thile also brought an element of loneliness to Bach seldom heard behind all the music's compositional exuberance. Sometimes if you peer deeply into Bach, you'll find pretty much everything. And Thile was indeed peering." You can read the full review at philly.com.
