Folk/Country Singer Nettie Rose Serenades With Stories And Banjos On Debut Album 'People I Know'
Los Angeles, CA (Top40 Charts/ LaFamos Press) With a unique storytelling talent and a gently graveled voice, folk/country singer Nettie Rose delivers her first studio effort, PEOPLE I KNOW. The album features eleven musical tales written with intense emotion and recollection from Rose. With several songs riding a more somber wave, and others on a higher note, PEOPLE I KNOW is a robust artistic expression from Rose's most personal thoughts. As she continues to perform, her fans are growing more intrigued by her music, her long golden brown, wavy locks and distinct style.

PEOPLE I KNOW blends a vibrant cast of characters ranging from troubadours to gunslingers with real life experiences, creating an entertaining and moving collection of narrative songs. Recorded at both Sound Emporium in Nashville and a studio in Santa Monica, PEOPLE I KNOW was mixed by Niko Bolas (Neil Young) at his "Surf Shack" room at Hollywood's Capitol Records. The album captures the essence of live instrumentation featuring the guitar, banjo, lap steel, mandolin, accordion and more. The album's lead single, "Freedom Trotter" owns a warm, easy-going vibe with a catchy melody and a fun, sing-along hook. Another standout track is the heartfelt song "My Young Lord Drake" where Rose sings a solemn story over romantic, harmonic fingerpicking guitar. The blue-eyed, sun child also shot an accompanying artistic music video where she plays a tarnished angel wandering aimlessly in the streets and dancing with her own shadow. Stellar production on the album is credited to Colin Linden (Lucinda Williams), Anthony Kilhoffer (Kanye West, John Legend), and Rich Reitz (Talib Kweli).

Raised as a California girl from the beautiful city of Santa Monica, Nettie Rose has always had music running through her veins. Her family has long been in the music industry so her interest in songwriting was inevitable. Having a music publisher for a father and rock archivist mother, Rose was exposed the business side of the industry as well as the creative side. Alan Freed, her grandfather, was a famous disc jockey in the 50's, who notably coined the phrase "rock and roll".

Rose began creating her own destiny at the age of eight when her passion for making music was ignited by the sounds of country music. She fed off that energy and started writing her own songs in response and eventually started recording in the studio where she would discover her unique style and sound. Around this time, she also began taking guitar lessons from multi-instrumentalist and music instructor extraordinaire Fred Sokolow (known for his extensive library of educational music DVDs and books) who later became her first songwriting partner. As she developed as an artist, her songwriting matured and conveyed contextual, poetic lyrics. The young singer, who also enjoys acting and is an avid painter, lists some of her biggest musical influences as Ramblin' Jack Elliott, Phil Ochs, Emmylou Harris, and Jim Morrison. Not only is there a vintage aspect in her writing, but her voice exudes the emotions of a seasoned artist beyond her years.

Nettie Rose's debut album is like a book you can't put down, as it gets better and better as you go along. "Inspiration isn't something that you wait for or need," she says, "its life." PEOPLE I KNOW is now available on iTunes. Look out for more from Nettie Rose by visiting www.NettieRose.com.
